Roadshow: Should California allow bicyclists to roll through stop signs?

Published Sunday March 12

Q I typically treat stop signs as yield signs, but only when I ride on quiet residential streets. I’m neither for nor against a change in the law. It has pros and cons.

What I do support is letting police make their own determination on whether or not a cyclist is riding safely.

A ID is the only state in which bicyclists can roll through stop signs under safe conditions. Officials there found that there were fewer bike-related injuries after the law was enacted.

A Spunky fits, don’t you readers think?

Q Regarding Bay Area bridge tolls: In 2013, while on vacation in northern Europe, I drove over the Oresund Bridge that connects Copenhagen, Denmark, with Malmo, Sweden.
