ViewPoints by Rob Schroder: Martinez financial picture healthy, work continues on roads

Published Wednesday March 15

On Feb. fourteen I delivered my fifteenth State of the City message at a breakfast sponsored by the Martinez Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Creekside Church.

At the suggestion of Julie Johnston, the executive director of the chamber, the annual message was delivered by myself, City Manager Brad Kilger and Chief of Police Manjit Sappal.

We followed a talk by East Bay Times columnist Daniel Borenstein, who gave us an update on the current status of the Public Employees Retirement System debt and more specific info about where Martinez is in its relationship to other cities in California.

Article length: About 670 words.
